He flies over to China for 4
days and comes back with this:
WASHINGTON, Jan.
18 2002 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Mosher, President of Population
Research Institute (PRI), today produced a videotape of "rampant
coercion" in the United Nations Population Fund's (UNFPA) model
county family planning program in China (Sihui, Guangdong Province).
They say they have
first-hand evidence, (presented at a hearing of the House Committee on
International Relations October 2001), obtained during a brief 4-day
"investigation" of UNFPA operations in China, September 27-30,
2001.
They say this is
first hand evidence, but it has been proven false by 2
subsequent independent studies.
UNFPA has proven that women ARE free to determine for
themselves the timing and spacing of their pregnancies in its China
program. The say they saw a UNFPA desk but
they never saw a UNFPA employee.
UNFPA works only in
regions of China where coercion does NOT exist and, if anything, works
AGAINST any one-child policy.
PRI, having only
anti-abortion as their agenda, provided the congressional committee with
testimonies of coercive abortion and coercive sterilization that were
totally disproved by subsequent task forces that took far more than 4
days. Republicans, nevertheless, accepted its authenticity and persuaded
the President to withhold UNFPA funding.
PRI is dedicated to
abolishing "family planning" programs overseas even when
abortion is no part of it.
It cares not for
solving obvious overpopulation disasters but is a front for
Anti-Abortionists: http://www.pop.org
They say Overpopulation is a mythical problem.
